As an artist, I explore the splendour and natural beauty of the environment through landscape and botanical painting and drawing. The sense of sublime in the evocative burst of life, colours and light during dawn and dusk particularly inspire my artistic expression. Capturing the unique and ephemeral moment of beauty as a flower blooms or leaf curls has resulted in my fascination with botanical art, exploring line, colour and tone. I utilize numerous mediums including graphite pencil, pen and ink, ink wash, coloured pencils, pastel and watercolour. My art practice extends into embroidery, working across techniques including canvaswork, blackwork, goldwork, crewel embroidery, stumpwork and surface embroidery.
